Hip Issues | Hip Flexor Pain | Tips to Help with Aches & Pains in the Hips

Hip Flexors and Hips are essential to keep flexible and strong if you are a dancer.  Recently I have been suffering from hip pain and it has not been fun at all.  I did consult a doctor that told me I have arthritis and tendinitis as you can imagine I was freaking out but, at least it was not a labial tear which can be serious and relief is gained only by surgery.

I discovered what was causing my hip issues (Aside from the arthritis & tendinitis)  was improper stretching, over use of certain movements and not enough strength in my muscles surrounding the hip.

Here are some things I found to help my hips get relief, reduce aches and avoid pain.

1.)  Always strength you hips slowly and properly.  Do not tense muscles when stretching but, breath through it and elongate.

2.)  Use foam rollers, tennis balls to massage the surrounding area that my be tight or sore.  Using the foam roller or tennis ball will release tension, knots and soreness.

3.)  Use heating pads between hips usage to soothe the surrounding area.
