Vacation or Holiday?

A few weeks ago, we left Michigan and adventure to the state of New York not only to vacation/holiday but, for baseball.  We went as a family and visit with old friends.  We love going on Vacation/Holiday because it is a chance to reflect, and break away from our crowded, over schedule, stressed out life.   Breaking away from life to have uninterrupted time not only as a family but, with God.  Cooperstown was town of reflection, beautiful in every way, filled with trees, lakes, fields, and woods.  Just like Moses, Paul and Jesus we need to getaway and really pray and spend time with God in solitude.

We started the trip with a baseball tournament in Cooperstown, New York.  My son spent the week in the dormitory with his team and coaches and we rented a small cabin close by.

In Down town Cooperstown we stumbled onto a amazing farmer's market that was enchanted; filled with amazing fruit/vegetables, meat, plants, wine, micro brewed brews/ciders and homemade products.

On the first evening in Cooperstown, there was an cool "Opening Ceremony' to welcome the teams and families.  We had a time of our life with the skydivers, dancing, music, cheering and of course players entering the field.

My son had made special memories not only with himself, but with players, coaches and umpires.

My son played like a heart of a champion and was very humble when things did not work out in his favor.

The last days in Cooperstown we visited a museum where it all begin with baseball as a family.  We had a wonderful time.

My son receive a ring at "Cooperstown Dream Park"  pretty cool!

An away we went to the city, New York City ~this is!
My daughter spent her 10th Birthday at the American Girl store on 5th Avenue and ate lunch there as well.

1st time for all of us, visiting the Statue of Liberty .

Of course, during our getaway we had to make a trip to the 9-11 Memorial Museum, to honor and reflect.

This whole trip to New York was a journey of joy and wished it never ended.

My world Traveler enjoy our last night in New York City eating a giant order of Steak Nachos.

If for some reason you cannot take a vacation/holiday find time to spend in the wilderness for an hour or more.  The wilderness will eliminate all distractions and noise of life.  You will find silence to find spiritual depth and connection with God.
