Craft Closet Organization and Declutter | How to Organize a Craft Closet

Decluttering the Craft Closet has been on my mind lately because I am "Sick and Tired" of crap everywhere all over the place and I would like one contain area.  My craft closet looks like a wild jungle and it needs to me tamed ASAP!   I need a system that is going to work well, be efficient and effective.

First, I decided how I wanted the space to be organize and what purpose I wanted to gain after it is organized.  I wanted my craft closet to house all my sewing supplies, Cricut Supplies, Candle Making Supplies, some glue, markers, tape items and space for other miscellaneous craft supplies.

Next, I removed everything from the closet and ask yourself if this is something you will need someday.  Let it go if you cannot see yourself using it in the next 2 years.  Also, ask yourself what will happen if you let it go, can you live without or can you live with one less thing.

Now vacuum all the debris up and wipe down your space with a multi- purpose cleaner.

When I place everything back into the closet I did not stuff or squeeze items into the space.  I only fill the space with items that were intended for the space in which I was organizing.

Organize by function and simplicity.

I bought Dollar Tree Rubbermaid tubs to store pens, tape, glue, rhinestones, etc.

My Craft closet I wanted to store all my sewing supplies and Cricut Supplies I bought and Ikea shelving unit and over the door organizer.

Finally, make last decisions of your space and ask these simple questions:

1.)  Have you used your craft supply in the past year?

2.)  Will I need the craft project for a specific day and time in the next year.

3.)  Do I need to keep any of the craft supplies for legal purposes?  LOL

4.)  Would I not find this craft project in the future someday if I give it up today?

If the answer NO to everyone of these question then TOSS it.
