Be Authentic! A Mom's View on raising her children during the 2016 Election!

Yes, God made me and made my kids who we are-are hair, skin, eyes, body etc. are made different from others.

My kids and I do not look at color, ethnicity or sex~we do not comprehend this but, lately it has been a heated discuss in my home due to media, peers and our society. My kids have voiced to me about my political stand and that is view as discriminating. They even question their dad about his work goals and ethics. Also, they are concerned about their fathers safety and well being because he is in law enforcement. Yes, I know the time was going to come where my kids were going to grasp and try to understand the world they live it. I do not nor will I or my family contribute, participate or question any one's race, sex or ethnicity. However, my family and my values do not accept liars, cheats, or fakes. I will continue to live and teach my kids to not only be authentic to themselves but, others. Just like God we are all unique and gifted with many talents. God will one day, call upon us all and ask for your true authentic self.

I have decided to tell my kids-" We all have stories some good and some not!" Analyze the person are they telling the same story. Today is the time they need to change the story. We have to all be willing to let go of the story and explore new possibilities. When we use our voice we need to be authentic and not persuaded. Finally, are we expressing things to others through voice, social media or written that is expressing secrets of shame of guilt due to judgment. Today, is the day we need to forgive, heal and reclaim God's power!
