Homemade "Battle the Sickness" Tea

Well, around our house these days, we have been suffering from sore throats, coughing attacks, stomach bugs, and fevers.  When there are colds and stomach bugs going around I make an "amazing" tea that soothes my throats, relaxing my cough, alleviates fevers, and fights stomach bugs.  I do like this tea strong so feel free to delete and not steep as long!

Here is What you Need:
  • 1/2 tablespoon of freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon of honey (I do a little more for my kids and husband)
  • 1 freshly squeeze lemon
  • 3 fresh thyme sprigs
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 6 cloves
  • 1 star anise pod
  • 16 ounces of boiling water
In a16 ounce mug place all ingredients including boiling water, let steep for 10-15 minutes.  Water must be super hot and boiling.  Drink and Repeat every 4-6 hours.
