Sweater Mittens using Sweaters from a Second Hand Store

This DIY why is so simply and perfect for any beginner sewer. 

Here is What you Need 
  • An Old Sweater
  • Manila Folder 
  • Marker
  • Scissors 
  • Needle 
  • Matching Thread
  • Sewing Pins  
1st take your old sweater and turn inside out;  take your manila folder and draw your hand in each side with your marker.  I like to draw just slightly larger than my normal hand.  2nd cut out your  hand from the folder and then trace using the marker onto the sweater.   3rd use scissors to cut out hands from the sweater.  4th take sewing pins and pin together the 2 piece of sweater material together.   5th tread your needle with matching tread.  6th begin hand stitching and do a ladder, running stitch your mittens 7th Finally, turn outside and Enjoy and Keep Warm!
