Weekly Meal Planning!
We are all busier than ever these days, working tons of hours, taking care of our homes, working out, raising children and personal/family commitments, we could never think of cooking delicious healthy meals! However with planning and meal prep we can have items in the house to whip up an amazing dinner, lunch or breakfast. I plan out my meals weekly but, my goal is to plan monthly. First, I print out a printable I created and fill in all the events of the week such as Basketball Games, church, family outings, etc. Also, I fill in any nights that we eat out and have Pizza!
After we establish what is going on throughout the week or month, I then go through the pantry, fridge and freezer and take inventory of what we have in the kitchen. If I have a lot of chicken I try to make sure I make some chicken meals. Next, I ask my family for request such as fruit, veggies or meals that would like to see in the future.
Cookbook, newspapers, magazine or even my own recipes I look through and decide if I will cook, try or experiment with.
Now I start writing out the recipes and the ingredients I need to buy, I include snacks, breakfast and lunches.
My final draft is written on an index card and place on the refrigerator for my family and myself to refer too.
