Cataloupe That is what is in Season!
One thing I know for sure along with many Michigan fruits is Cantaloupes are plentiful in August but, did you know Cantaloupes use to be call Muskmelon or maybe some still call it that! Nonetheless, when buying a cantaloupe look for no stem and take a whiff. A nice cantaloupe will have a nice fragrant, should be firm and feel a little heavy. Store your cantaloupes in a cool and dry place. Remember when you cut your melon to clean the outside well to remove any bacteria. Cut your melon in half, scoop out flesh and slice into wedge but, do not forget to remove outside skin.
